Girl Leadership Summit

All girls in grades 6-12 are welcome to join us for an outstanding program where you will learn from accomplished and talented women leaders to build your own leadership skills.  You will be inspired by women who have led the way in medicine, the sciences, law, the arts, and business and industry.  Workshops, panel and career choice discussions will focus on topics that you have told us you want to know about!  Meet the current years Women of Distinction and learn the secrets of their success.  Have fun while thinking about your future career path.

Workshops

College 101
Whether you are looking for a school in-state – or out-of-state – private or public – small or large – we can help you narrow things down! Join us for a helpful session where we will explore your choices; learn about yourself and college life. Work with our professional who will help you plan for your future and answer all your burning questions. Interview Savvy Find out how to rock that interview! Come to this session and
learn the do’s and don’ts, how to make a great impression and what your body language is saying about you. You will also learn how to dress for success and some helpful tips to stay calm.

Laughing Together
Learn how to be a team member and effectively communicate while working with others. Find out how to get your point across while still having fun. We will practice team building and communications skills through improvisation, silly performances and goofy stories. This entertaining and interactive workshop will have you laughing and will stimulate a feeling of teamwork.

Picture Perfect
Ever look through the pages of a magazine and wish you looked as perfect as the models in the picture? At this workshop, you’ll explore the editing that happens to pictures for the media, define your ideas of the “perfect body” and learn how you can love the body you have!

Stress Less
It is easy to get caught up in the day to day pressure of life, but we will give you some tactics to control your stress level and maintain a healthy balance in life. Try out yoga and de-stressing music with this fun interactive session.

Earning Money
Managing your money does not have to be a complicated thing, you can put your money to work for you. Discover how by learning to set goals and work towards them. We will show you how to stick to a budget and provide you with creative money earning ideas - the Girl Scout way.

Secure Your Financial Future - for Parents
Join Marguerite Mount in a detailed discussion of financial tools that can help you take command of your financial future. Together you will explore how to approach those impending milestones – paying for your kid’s college, planning for retirement and creating a legacy for your family or for charity. Marguerite leads the Individual Services Team at the Mercadien Group and has spent 30 years advising clients on how to make the most of their financial resources – she has a special interest in empowering women to take charge of their finances. She is a frequent speaker and author on the topic of financial literacy for women.

Show Me The Money and Surviving College - for Parents
The college has been chosen, the dorm room colors decided on-now, how do you pay for all of it? College, and everything that goes with it, is expensive. Learn with the parents of other college-bound children how to save and spend wisely. Find the scholarships and grants that your student needs to make going to college more affordable.
