Get ready to sketch, color, and create at Girl Scout DreamLab: Junior
Drawer Badge Workshop! This exclusive program is designed for Juniors
to earn the Retired Junior Drawer Badge. Girls will explore how
artists communicate ideas, experiment with different
drawing
styles and materials, and celebrate their creativity in a fun,
supportive studio setting.
Each girl will receive her very own
sketch notebook to use during the workshop and take home for future
masterpieces!
Girls will put their listening and describing
skills to the test! One Girl Scout will secretly view a simple cartoon
character (think fun favorites like SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the
Explorer, or Bluey) and describe it without saying the name or any
obvious
clues. Their teammates will draw based only on the
description. Will the final drawings match? We'll find out!
Juniors will get to see how different materials create different effects within the same design.
Girls will also create a bold, creative version of their name using bubble letters or even graffiti/street art flair using vibrant markers.
We'll wrap up our very own art gallery! All artwork will be displayed for a special "Museum Walk," where girls and adults can admire each other's creations with lots of "oohs" and "aahs."
This engaging workshop builds creativity, communication skills, artistic confidence, and appreciation for others' work, all while completing steps toward the Junior Drawer Badge.
