Join us for an exciting adventure at the Sterling Hill Mine, where you'll delve into the fascinating world of earth sciences, engineering, and the responsible use of nonrenewable resources.
Girls will embark on a guided walking tour through approximately
1,300 feet of tunnel inside the mine. Along the way, knowledgeable
guides will stop at various stations to explain the equipment,
history, working conditions, and geology of the mine. Highlights
include the lamp room, the shaft station, and mine galleries dating
back to the 1830s. Plus, you'll discover the mesmerizing phenomenon of
mineral fluorescence!
This trip includes transportation, the
tour, and mining activities. Please pack a bagged lunch, as the trip
does not include lunch, but there will be time to enjoy your meal in
the beautiful gardens of the mine.
