Service Unit Training

The Service Team is integral to the success of our Leadership. We offer position specific training for these key positions: Service Unit Manager (SUM,) Organizer/Recruiter, Girl Scout Leadership Experience Coach, Registrar, Treasurer, Public Relations Manager, and Council Trainer. Service Team members are required to complete training for the position.

Service Unit Manager (SUM) Orientation
3 hours

In SUM Orientation you will learn how to work in partnership with Council staff to manage the effective delivery and extension of the Girl Scout Leadership Development Experience. Girl Scouting 101

Treasurer
3 hours

Learn the responsibilities of the Service Unit Treasurer which include maintaining and overseeing the Service Unit and Troop bank accounts, community income and expenses. Learn how to complete the yearly Service Unit and Troop Financial Summaries and submit them to council. Girl Scouting 101

Organizer/Recruiter
3 hours

The training gives you the tools, resources and strategies to recruit and place Girl Scout Volunteers and girls. Girl Scouting 101

Registrar
1.5 hours

Available in person or webinar.

 

This training covers Council and national member registration procedures including Personify. Girl Scouting 101

Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) Coach
3 hours

Learn how to assist and support the leadership of your Service Unit by translating your Girl Scout experience into practical tools. Girl Scouting 101

Facilitating Adult Learning - Council Trainer
7 hours

This hands-on session is open to all who want to learn how to effectively deliver courses to a variety of audiences. Participants will learn at least five basic skills and knowledge needed to facilitate adult learning. Girl Scouting 101
