Magazine & Nut Program

Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta put together the following video about a Girl Scout troop’s participation in the Magazine & Nut Program. It represents a good example of a girl-led experience from start to finish, while demonstrating the five skills learned with participation in the product program: Goal Setting, Decision Making, Money Management, People Skills and Business Ethics!

Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ offers an annual Magazine & Nut program to all registered girls. Through the sale of magazine subscriptions and delicious nut and candy products, girls raise funds for program opportunities. Popular magazine titles as well as e-magazines are available for tablets and e-Readers. The candy and nut items make great holiday gifts and some are even available in commemorative tins.

This program is a fun, safe, and quick way for a Girl Scout to raise money while earning recognitions to acknowledge individual effort. This program is a unique opportunity for girls to learn values, set goals, handle money, and acquire marketing and social skills.

Funds raised through this program also help the Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ promote Girl Scouting by:

  • providing fun and educational programs for girls and adults
  • recruiting and training a network of volunteers to ensure that quality programs are available to any girl who wishes to become a Girl Scout
  • offering outdoor programming at our various camp properties
  • The Magazine & Nut Program will also help fund troop activities and trips during the first half of the Girl Scout year.

We hope that you continue to support Girl Scouting by encouraging girls to participate in this great program! Talk to your Service Unit Magazine & Nut Manager for more information.
