In April, GSUSA shared that the Girl Scouts of the USA Board of Directors had voted to hold Girl Scouts’ 55th National Council Session (NCS) virtually, given the COVID-19 pandemic and Girl Scouts’ focus on safety. As we reimagined NCS as a 100% virtual experience, we realized that we had an opportunity to invite more members to participate!
So as the excitement grows for our history-making, first-ever virtual NCS, we’re happy to invite GSCSNJ to participate in the following ways:
- Council Shout-Out Photos
- Video reciting the Girl Scout Pledge, Promise, and Law
- Virtual Flag Processional Photos
PLEASE NOTE: All submission deadlines have been extended to Friday, September 18!
Learn more about each opportunity and how to submit your Girl Scout's video/photo!
Are you crazy about your Council? Would you like a chance to be featured in the first-ever virtual National Council Session this fall?
The final video will be a photo montage of 112 Girl Scout portraits, one from each council and from USAGSO. Girl Scouts are encouraged to find a creative, visual way to represent their council. It could be a choice of background or holding an object that represents something special about your council. The 112 most creative, interesting, and appealing photos will be chosen!
Do you love Girl Scout traditions? Would you like a chance to be featured in the first-ever virtual National Council session this fall?
The final video will consist of approximately 30 Girl Scouts of all ages and backgrounds, each reciting a portion of the Flag Ceremony Commands, Pledge of Allegiance, and the Girl Scout Promise & Law.
Show your love for a Girl Scout tradition! Seize the chance for your council to represent one of the countries celebrating Girl Scouts and Girl Guides across the globe!
The virtual flag processional video will kick off NCS and represent the Flag Processional that is a time-honored tradition and official marks the start of an in-person NCS.
The final video will be a photo montage of councils, USAGSO, and others, each representing an assigned country, which is a WAGGGS Member Organization.
This year, GSCSNJ has been assigned Austria as our country to represent! We encourage our girls to research our assigned country and use your imagination to design the country's flag, which will be held by the girl in the photo.
