Last summer, Camp Sacajawea pivoted to provide an engaging Virtual Summer Camp option for hundreds of Girl Scouts from across the United States and Canada! Now it’s your turn to discover Virtual Camp experiences for every girl, whether it involves environmental exploration or STEM.

Virtual Camp includes a blend of live interactions with camp counselors and plenty of activities to complete away from the screen, independently, or with a caregiver. While Virtual Camp is specifically hosted by Camp Sacajawea, girls from across New Jersey (and the world!) are invited to join the fun.

 
Virtual Camp is for ALL girls in grades K-12.

*Pricing includes a Welcome Box with supplies and camp essentials! Welcome Box will be mailed directly to your home. Campers located outside of mainland United States or Hawaii may be charged additional shipping fees.

An Eventbrite fee will be added upon checkout and is nonrefundable per Eventbrite policy.

To STEM-finity & Beyond | Grades K-3 | $125

This summer, Virtual Camp is going to be explosive. Put on your lab coat and goggles, and take a virtual trip with us as we explore the world of STEM. Meet the women that make the impossible possible, and learn some slime-tastic experiments along the way!

Badges Earned:  STEM Career Exploration

STEM-tacular | Grades 4-8 | $125

Ever wonder what the inside of an anthropologist’s lab looks like? What about the day to day life of a space engineer? Put on your lab coat and goggles, and take a virtual trip with us as we explore the world of STEM! Meet the women that make the impossible possible! This week will be positively radioactive.

Badges Earned:  STEM Career Exploration

Counselor-in-Training (CIT) | Grades 9-11

** Important Info: This is a two-week program. Girls MUST attend both weeks to complete their CIT training. August 2-6 & August 9-13**

Our Counselor-in-Training Program (CIT), formally known as the CATs program, aims to train Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts to be effective leaders and to understand the necessary qualities and responsibilities required to be a camp counselor.

Girl Scouts provides CITs with the tools they need to be leaders at camp as well as their community at large. Under the direction of our Leadership staff, CITs will expand their leadership skills by shadowing counselors, taking certification courses, and participating in various activities and workshops that will prepare them for working with campers of all ages.

Badges Earned: Girls who complete this two-week program will earn their CIT pin.

Virtual Camp Aide | Grades 9-12

Camp Aides assist in planning, teaching, coordinating, and carrying out activities to younger campers in our virtual summer camp. Camp Aides could be assigned to activities with either group grades Kindergarten-3 or 4th-8th.

Camp Aides can earn volunteer hours towards their Service to Girl Scouting Bar.

Prerequisite:  Must have completed a CIT program from a Girl Scout Council in order to enroll in our Camp Aide program.

August 9-13
Creepy Crawlies | Grades K-3 | $125

Worms, spiders, and caterpillars are found everywhere. Bugs can do lots of cool things including keeping our world diverse. Explore the ways these little creatures help our world and maybe even catch some along the way!

Badges Earned:  Daisy Use Resources Wisely (petals not included) or Brownie Bugs

Down to Earth | Grades 4-8 | $125

This week at Virtual Camp, we are taking flower power and tree-hugging to the next level! Break out the soil and the seeds for a week of cultivation, pollination, and soil therapy.

Badges Earned:  Junior Flowers or Cadette Trees

Camp Traditions

Your camper will get the chance to experience a whole new camp adventure while still participating in many of Camp Sacajawea's cherished camp traditions! Regardless of the format Girl Scout camp takes, Summer Camp will continue to build girls  of courage, confidence and character, all while making new friends.

 

Welcome Box

A week's worth of activity supplies is provided via her very own Welcome Box! Each Welcome Box contains:

Activity Supplies

Your Welcome Box will not include any perishable items. A small, additional supplies list will be sent out one week in advance.

When registering your camper, you will be able to choose whether you would like to pick-up your girl's Welcome Box from a GSCSNJ Service Center, or to have the box shipped directly to your home.

Camp Schedule

Virtual Summer Camps run Monday-Friday from 9am-3:30pm EST (with electives and breaks in-between). Your camper's average day will include:

  • Live morning badge work
  • Opening and closing flag
  • Interactive unit lunch period
  • Afternoon craft & games
  • “All-Camp Activity” period with our older girl group of the week.

Each week will also includes a chance for families to join the fun on Monday (opening) and Friday (closing) Campfires from 7-8pm EST, designed to engage the whole family! Each week will close with a Family Award Ceremony, Closing Campfire, and a chance to “camp” at home during a Camp-In Camp-Out.

Bonus Family Activities Included!

Elective Sessions:

Activities like the Get Active Club, Nature Scavenger Hunt, and Polar Bear Plunge will earn girls additional camp accolades while continuing their camp experience away from screens.

 

Pre-recorded Programming:

Families can access a library of pre-recorded videos that can be watched and completed at home with adult supervision; videos include outdoor cooking demonstrations, crafts, and additional badge opportunities!

 

Opening and Closing Campfires:

Join the fun on Monday (opening) and Friday (closing) Campfires. Our Closing Campfire includes both a Family Award Ceremony and a chance to set up a family campsite at home.

Financial Assistance

We believe that every girl should have the opportunity to go to Summer Camp. GSCSNJ offers Financial Assistance to those who need help paying for camp. Special consideration is given to families impacted by COVID-19.

Girls participating across the country are invited to apply for Financial Assistance, even if they are not a registered Girl Scout.
