CIT II: Aquatics Track | Grades 10-12 | $725

This program is for Girl Scouts that are 15-17 that are still in High School and have previously completed the CIT I Course.

**This is a two week course. Participation in both the weeks of July 5-7 & July 10-14 is required.**

Take your CIT training to the next level with a program exclusive to Camp Oak Spring! This brand new two week CIT II: Aquatics Track Program aims to train Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts to be lifeguards and to understand the necessary qualities and responsibilities required to be team member.

The CITs will get the opportunity to expand their leadership skills as they work with a Lifeguard Instructor to prepare them for working with campers of all ages in an aquatic setting. During the first week the CIT’s will learn all of the necessary skills they need to become a lifeguard. During the second week, they will shadow members of our aquatics team at both our pool and dock each day. Additionally, at the end of each day of the second week, CITs will get the chance to read over their daily feedback forms (that are completed by the staff they were shadowing that day) and reflect on how to continue to grow in their aquatics leadership journey.

Registrants will be asked to complete online coursework prior to attending the CIT II program that takes approximately 8 hours. There will be a small amount of time allotted to working on the online portion at camp, but it is strongly suggested that all online coursework be completed prior to the start of the first week. If any coursework needs to be completed at camp, the CIT is responsible for their own electronic device (laptop or tablet). Additionally, in order to participate in the CIT II: Aquatics Track Program, there is a mandatory Small Craft Certification (two options: 6/25 or 7/8) and an in-person pre-test (first offering on 6/25, additional offerings may be scheduled as needed) that must be completed.

This is a pass/fail course, and a successful passing of the course will qualify the CIT II to return as a lifeguard. Enrollment in this course comes with a commitment of working a minimum of three weeks at Camp Oak Spring as a lifeguard. All working papers must be completed prior to the CIT II’s first day of employment.
