Request A Visit
If you would like the MRC to attend your community fair, festival, or parade, please follow this procedure:
1.
The volunteers in the community where the event is taking place must be willing to be involved. You will need to determine what your purpose is for the event & plan your "presentation" accordingly. For example, are you looking to recruit girls? Then a table with girl flyers and some sort of "make and take" project may be in order. If looking to recruit adults, then adult flyers and people versed in what adults in GS do should be on board. General awareness about Girl Scouting? Maybe a display with pictures, general brochures, etc. Will Girl Scout merchandise be sold? Then a staff member who can operate the register needs to be involved.
2.
Please contact Sonja Ross, Director of Retail Sales at 732.821.9090, ext. 123 or sross@gscsnj.org to plan a visit.
3.
Once availability has been determined, you should contact event personnel to get a spot. In most cases, there is no fee for non-profits or else we have arranged to have fees waived. If a fee is charged, it will be the responsibility of the volunteer group to cover that cost. A discussion needs to be held about the size of the vehicle and the spot it will be located in, whether or not the generator can be run throughout the day, etc. A fact sheet about the MRC will be available so volunteers can be aware of the requirements for the MRC.
4.
When a spot at the event is arranged, confirm with Sonja Ross, who will arrange for a driver to take the unit to & from the event.
5.
For the day of the event, be sure that there is an adequate number of volunteers and sufficient materials to handle the anticipated crowd.
6. Enjoy and make lots of contacts for your community & GSCSNJ!

How will this increase service to me?
On a regular basis, the services of a council office will be stopping in your local area. Since your membership staff person will no longer need to "cover" the office, they will have more time to devote to providing services to volunteers and supporting administrative volunteers' efforts to recruit and retain adults and girls. This will free up membership staff to be able to come to you at a time and place that is convenient for you.

When necessary, we can also provide training to smaller groups of volunteers on the Mobile Resource Centers in their community. This will open access to volunteer leadership positions for adults who have transportation challenges. These additions will enhance services already provided online and at our service centers..
