Crow Pond Community Girl Scouts are collecting donations in the month of October to fill stockings and boxes that will be sent to military friends and family. Hosted by Troop 97420, this event will be collecting various items to be sent to soldiers deployed overseas. Many things like toiletries, snacks, hand warmers, bed linens and phone cards must be provided by the individual soldiers. These soldiers are often on a limited fixed income, many with families to support back home. Another problem is that these items are not readily available where these troops are stationed. Please ask your girls and parents to bring snacks, hand warmers, individual drink mixes or other items listed on the 'Word' flier. Various activities will be provided for the girls, including coloring pages for the younger girls and letter writing for the older girls to be included in the packages that will be sent to the soldiers. It is always a thrill to receive a letter from soldiers receiving the packages. There will be a presentation/question& answer by the Shuster's of Support the Troops NJ.
