Camp Oak Spring, Somerset, NJ
This camp property is 120-acres of grass and hills bordering the Delaware-Raritan Canal. We offer summer day camp, troop camping, family camping, and you can host events at this location. At Oak Spring, you’ll find yourself canoeing, shooting archery, climbing the rock tower, gliding down the zip line, and geocaching with friends.

Main House: Capacity 24; 2-story frame house. First Floor - kitchen, dining area, living room with fire place, basement program area, and ½ bath. Second floor - 5 bedrooms with bunk beds, “Leader’s bedroom” with 2 twin beds, 2 bathrooms. Kitchen includes pots, pans, dishes and flatware. Outdoor fire ring available for use.
Troop House: Capacity 14; Single story building with electricity and heat, fireplace, fridge, stove, microwave, eating area. Large single room w/bunk beds. A few stairs at entry points. Water and Port-O-John outside; fire ring, picnic tables.
Ash Grove: 6 tents with a capacity of 24 (no cots or mattresses); 2 fire rings; handicapped accessible fire ring & 3 handicapped accessible platform tents. Refrigerator available in Shelter. Near Wash House for flush toilets (April – October).
Tamarack: 6 tents with a capacity of 24 (no cots or mattresses); 2 fire rings. Refrigerator available in Shelter. Near Wash House for flush toilets (April – October).
Sky Top Yurt: Capacity 20 (no mattresses); large round tent with electricity; fire ring; picnic tables. Refrigerator available in Shelter. Near Wash House for flush toilets (April – October).
Lenape Yurt: Capacity 20 (no mattresses); large round tent with electricity; fire ring; with large deck and picnic tables, near Wash House for flush toilets (April – October).
Deer Run: Capacity 24; 6 Acorn Cabins with wooden bunks and mattresses; near Wash House for flush toilets (April – October), fire ring, picnic tables.
Stu Site: Suggested Capacity 12; Pitch your own tent – fire ring and picnic tables. Near Wash House for flush toilets (April – October).
Kishux Site ‘training site’: Suggested Capacity 24; Pitch your own tent – multiple fire rings and picnic tables. Use of Quonset Hut is included.
Dogwood: 5 tents; capacity of 20 (no cots or mattresses); picnic tables; near latrine and Port-O-Johns, 2 fire rings.
White Oak - Whispering Pines: 4 tents; capacity of 20 (no cots or mattresses); pavilion with picnic tables; 2 fire rings; near latrine and Port-O-Johns.
Tall Timbers: Suggested Capacity 24. Pitch your own tent: fire ring and picnic tables; Latrine.
Paddock: Suggested Capacity 24. Pitch your own tent: fire ring and picnic tables; Port-o-John.
ACTIVITIES AT OAK SPRING
Please note that with any activity requested, payment is required prior to participation. Activities must be booked at least 2 weeks in advance. Activities are dependent upon times, instructors and availability. We will do our best to accommodate your group!
Common Use Area.
Canoeing: 24 people at a time. *Canoeing is not recommended for Girl Scout Daisies. Brownies can be a passenger as long as they are with older girls / adults. Certified instructor included. Life jackets are provided and must be worn. Available April, May, June, September and October weather permitting.
For canoeing please wear boat shoes, closed-toe and nonslip hiking/sport sandals with heel strap, or water socks or shoes (no flip-flops)
Archery: Archery is not recommended for Girl Scout Daisies. Each session can accommodate up to 20 . Approximately one hour.
Hay Ride: Each ride can accommodate up to 20 people and lasts approximately 30 minutes. Available May, June, September, October (weather permitting).
Rock Tower: Rock tower is not recommended for daisies. Maximum of 25 people/session. The rock tower must be scheduled in advance as it is shared between other camps. Large groups, Service Units and Council program will have priority when reservations are made. Weight limit 40-220 lbs. Safety harness must properly fit participant.
Zip Line: Zip line is not recommended for daisies. Maximum of 18 people / session. The zip line must be scheduled in advance and requires 2 certified instructors. Available May, June, Sept., Oct. weather permitting. Weight limit 40-220 lbs. Safety harness must properly fit participant.
Geocaching: GPS units are available for rental or you may bring your own. There are 3 caches on the camp and the coordinates are in the kit. The GPS units in the kit are not pre-programmed. An instruction book is in the kit, but a basic understanding of GPS is helpful when planning this activity for a troop. Reservations should be made and paid for 2 weeks in advance. There is one kit per camp. Available all year. Kits can be picked up Wednesday- Friday before your camping weekend at Cherry Hill or East Brunswick Service Center, kits must be returned Monday or Tuesday after your camping weekend.
There are Girl Scout caches located on the site. GPS units are available for rental. $25.00 rental fee / $100 Security held against personal credit card / unit.
