Camp Kettle Run, Medford, NJ
This camp property is an 158-acre Pinelands camp in Burlington County - including an 11-acre lake surrounded by sandy trails. Kettle Run is famous for troop and family camping! At this camp, you can swim in the lake, shoot archery, canoe, climb the rock tower, and check out the Girl Scout HerStory Center.

Units 2 & 6 have sleeping capacities of (24): (6) Tarp covered canvas tents on each tent’s own elevated wooden platform (platform tents). Each platform tent has (4) non-movable metal beds with mattresses for a unit capacity of (24).
Unit 3 (converted to an Acorn site in 2016) has a sleeping capacity of (24): (6) Cabins/Acorns with a solid door and screen ventilation, and (4) built-in wooden beds with mattresses for a unit capacity of (24).
Unit 7 has a sleeping capacity of (24): (6) Cabins/Acorns with a solid door and screen ventilation, and (4) built-in wooden beds with mattresses for a unit capacity of (24).
Unit 4 has a sleeping capacity of (27): (5) Cabins with screen “windows” and doors. (4) Cabins have 3 bunk beds with mattresses sleeping (6) per cabin totaling (24). Another cabin has (3) metal cots with mattresses sleeping (3) making a unit capacity of (27).
Stokes Lodge has a sleeping capacity of 28: (2) bedrooms, each with its own bathroom (toilet and sink), (1) shower (for adults), (4) bunks in one bedroom sleeps (8) (and has an entrance/exit door), the other bedroom has (3) bunks and (2) metal beds sleeping (8). The remainder of guests can sleep on mattresses on the common room’s floor or the enclosed porch overlooking the lake. Gas stove. Roofed double BBQ grille. Woodstove. Single story building with stairs up to entrances.
Conte A & B each have a sleeping capacity of 28 (mattresses): (1) bedroom with (2) metal beds for adults; the remainder of guests can sleep on mattresses on the common room’s floor. Conte is a single story building with (2) sides. It is connected in the middle with (2) locking doors for privacy or doors can be opened (by the Ranger) to create a single large lodge (sleeping capacity 56). Each side has an entrance ramp and steps; bathroom (3 toilets and 4 sinks); kitchen (electric range/stove); fire ring area; thermostat. No shower or woodstove/fireplace. Conte B has a grille and stadium seating.
Troop House has a sleeping capacity of 32 (mattresses): (2) small bedrooms upstairs, each with (2) metal beds; the remainder of guests sleep on mattresses on the common room’s floor. Troop House is a (2) story building (no children permitted upstairs) with an entrance ramp and stairs. Shower for adults only upstairs. Downstairs bathroom has (3) toilets and (4) sinks. Wood stove.
Common Areas of camp: Amphitheater, Sports Field, Shower House (April-October). All Common Areas are open to all guests. If you plan an activity in a Common Area you are responsible for coordinating your schedule with all other groups in camp.
ACTIVITIES AT KETTLE RUN
Please note that with any activity requested, payment is required prior to participation. Activities must be booked at least 2 weeks in advance. Activities are dependent upon times, instructors and availability. We will do our best to accommodate your group!
Canoeing: 24 people at a time. *Canoeing is not recommended for Girl Scout Daisies. Brownies can be a passenger as long as they are with older girls / adults. Certified instructor included. Life jackets are provided and must be worn. Available April, May, June, September and October weather permitting.
For canoeing please wear boat shoes, closed-toe and nonslip hiking/sport sandals with heel strap, or water socks or shoes (no flip-flops)
Lake Swimming: Requires Lifeguard with waterfront module certification. Available dependent on staffing. Available May, June, September and October weather permitting.
Archery: Archery is not recommended for Girl Scout Daisies. Each session can accommodate up to 20 people/instructor and last for approximately one hour. Instructor included. Available April, May, June, September and October.
Rock Tower: Rock tower is not recommended for daisies. Maximum of 25 people / session. The rock tower must be scheduled in advance as it is shared between other camps. Large groups, Service Units and Council program will have priority when reservations are made. Available May, June, September and October weather permitting. Weight limit 40-220 lbs. Safety harness must properly fit participant.
Geocaching: GPS units are available for rental or you may bring your own. There are 3 caches on the camp and the coordinates are in the kit. The GPS units in the kit are not pre-programmed. An instruction book is in the kit, but a basic understanding of GPS is helpful when planning this activity for a troop. Reservations should be made and paid for 2 weeks in advance. There is one kit per camp. Available all year. Kits can be picked up Wednesday- Friday before your camping weekend at Cherry Hill or East Brunswick Service Center, kits must be returned Monday or Tuesday after your camping weekend.
There are Girl Scout caches located on the site. GPS units are available for rental. $25.00 rental fee / $100 Security held against personal credit card / unit.
