Over 180 girls participated in Cookie College an outstanding program held at Cherokee High school in Marlton, on Sunday, January 6. Girls from Daisies to Juniors earned cookie badges at each level. Daisies earned the “Count It Up Badge,” Brownies the “Meet My Customers Badge,” and Juniors the “Cookie CEO Badge.” Volunteers and staff facilitated an exciting day of work shops, skill building role plays and fun activities for girls to learn how to have a successful cookie sale. Through the different workshops girls learned all “5 skills” of the cookie sale – goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics.
The Product Program Department created an exciting and dynamic day for girls and volunteers full of fun and learning opportunities. At the end of the day girls got to “graduate” and received a program bag with cookies and other fun items including a graduation cap. After the girls “graduated” from Cookie College the music pumped through the gym of Cherokee High School’s gym as participants had an impromptu dance party.
The Product Program Department would also like to extend their sincere thanks to all the volunteers and staff who came out and dedicated their time to creating and running exciting activities and workshop for girls. They would especially like to thank the girls of the Marlton Service Unit for creating SWAPS for all girls and conducting the flag ceremony at the beginning of the program. They could not have had such a successful day without your help! Thank you.
