American Red Cross (ARC) CPR & First Aid Blended Course (CHSC) Comments
Prerequisite: Girl Scout membership
CPR is a required training (along with First Aid) for all First Aiders. A First Aider must accompany troops as indicated in the Safety Activity Checkpoints. The First Aider need not be the leader of the troop. There is a $40.00 charge for this course.
Blended American Red Cross CPR and First Aid is a combined on-line and in person CPR and First Aid course. Registration and payment may be submitted up to three weeks prior to the hands-on session date. An email will be sent with a link for the on-line portion of this course three weeks before the hands-on session. Courses are electronically assigned to the student. The on-line session must be completed prior to attending the scheduled Hands-On Skills Practice and Evaluation session and Performance evaluation on the date for which you registered. All students must perform required skills competently without assistance or instruction.
If you wish, you may take CPR/First Aid from outside agencies. Be sure that the CPR course covers both adult and child CPR. Please consult Volunteer Essentials for approved courses.
Certification for ARC is good for 2 years.
Courses fill up quickly, so please register for your training as soon as possible. Enrollment for training sessions will close one week before the date of the training. However, sessions may close sooner due to high demand. Courses may be combined or cancelled due to low enrollment. If you cannot attend a session you have registered for please let us know as someone may be waiting.
Girl Scouts who are 14 years or older may take this course. Same prerequisites apply.
