American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) First Aid/CPR Blended Course (Inawendiwin) Comments
Online course plus 1-hour Skills Session
Prerequisite: Girl Scout membership
ASHI CPR and AED is a combined CPR and AED program designed specifically for laypeople. The program is an excellent choice for both the community and workplace setting, and is based upon the 2010 International Consensus on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Science with Treatment Recommendations (CoSTR) and other evidence-based treatment recommendations. There is a $45.00 charge for the complete CPR & AED Course.
ASHI Basic First Aid was created to help students develop basic first aid knowledge, skills, and the confidence to respond. The program is an excellent choice for both the community and workplace setting, and is consistent with recommendations of the 2010 National First Aid Science Advisory Board and OSHA's best practices for first aid training programs in the workplace. There is a $45.00 charge for the complete First Aid course.
ASHI CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid combination training was created to allow Instructors an easy option for their students seeking a comprehensive training class. The program helps develop basic first aid knowledge, skills, and the confidence to respond. CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid combination training is an excellent choice for both the community and workplace setting, and is consistent with recommendations of the 2010 National First Aid Science Advisory Board and OSHA's best practices for first aid training programs in the workplace. There is a $60.00 charge for the complete CPR/First Aid Combination course.
If the combined First Aid/CPR course is taken, one single card is issued. All three certifications are valid for 2 years.
Once registration and payment is received, an email will be sent with a link for the on-line portion of this course. Courses are electronically assigned to the student and the Instructor is notified when the online portion is complete. The on-line session must be completed prior to attending the skills session. Then attend a scheduled Hands-On Skills Practice and Evaluation session and Performance evaluation: All students must perform required skills competently without assistance or instruction. The skills session must be complete within 60 days of on-line session completion to receive certification. You may attend any of the in-person sessions for either the CPR& AED, the First Aid or the Combination course.
Registration will not be complete until payment is received. Payment can be made by credit card through online registration or by check using the mail-in registration. Special Instructions: Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a hair tie if appropriate for the skills session.
Both CPR and First Aid are required for all First Aiders. To determine when a First Aider is required, consult the Safety Activity checkpoints. If you wish, you may take First Aid/CPR from outside agencies. Be sure that the CPR course covers both adult and child CPR. Please consult Volunteer Essentials for approved courses.
Girl Scouts who are 14 years or older may take this course. Same prerequisites apply.
Courses fill up quickly, so please register for your training as soon as possible. Enrollment for training sessions will close one week before the date of the training. However, sessions may close sooner due to high demand. Courses may be combined or cancelled due to low enrollment. If you cannot attend a session you have registered for please let us know as soon as possible. There may be someone waiting for the seat.
