American Red Cross (ARC) Wilderness and Remote First Aid (Kettle Run) Comments
Prerequisite: Girl Scout membership, Current CPR/First Aid, candidate must be 14 years of age on or before the last day of the class
Wilderness and Remote First Aid provides participants a foundation of first aid principles and skills to respond and give care in areas that do not have immediate emergency medical services (EMS) response, such as wilderness and remote environments including urban disasters such as hurricane and earthquakes. This course meets the Boys Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid requirement.
• Attend all class sessions
• Participate and demonstrate competency in all skills sessions and activities
• Complete the training scenarios
• Pass Written exam with a score of 80%
• Participants must possess current CPR certification
Certificate Issued and Validity Period: Certification is valid for 2 years.
There is a $30.00 charge for the complete course for registered Girl Scout members. If you are not a member already, please complete the membership registration ($30.00 for girl members and $15.00 for adult members), prior to registering for this course.
This is a two day course. Registered participants may stay overnight at the lodge at no additional charge. You will be contacted after your registration for the course is received regarding your overnight stay choice.
Girl Scouts who are 14 years or older may take this course. Same prerequisites apply.
Special Instructions: Please wear comfortable clothes; bring meals, snacks and plenty of water for each session and a hair tie if appropriate.
Courses fill up quickly, so please register for your training as soon as possible. Enrollment for training sessions will close one week before the date of the training. However, sessions may close sooner due to high demand. Courses may be combined or cancelled due to low enrollment. If you cannot attend a session you have registered for please let us know as soon as possible. There may be someone waiting for the seat.
Registration for trainings typically remains open until the day of the training unless otherwise noted in the description. A minimum of eight (8) people must be registered at least one week prior to the training, or the training will be cancelled.
