Smartkids Babysitting 101 (EBSC) Comments
Teaches essential child care skills needed for responsible babysitters or mother's helpers caring for infants, toddlers, or older children. Learn basic skills for infants such as holding, feeding, burping, proper changing technique; how to respond and interact with children of all ages; safety protocols for all children; nutritious snacks; how to cope with common problems like tantrums, crying, etc.; games and ideas that are educational and fun; how to handle first aid emergencies with illness or injuries; responsibilities of the babysitter and hiring family; CPR and choking; write resumes and how to interview for jobs. Students receive a Babysitting 101 Certification Card and patch at end of course. An American Heart Association Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid with CPR/AED Certification card will be mailed from Somerset Medical Center.
Please bring lunch and a 3-ring binder for your Study Guide. Wear comfortable clothes.
Adult Chaperones will need to stay for the duration of the program.
