Live Healthy, Lead Healthy Conference (Lakewood) Comments
Join your sister Girl Scouts for a fun-filled weekend at Georgian Court University. Open to girls in 8th through 11th grade. Girls will have the opportunity to experience college life by living in the dorms, travelling to workshops, and spending their free time in FUN activities all around the campus.
Girls will arrive on Friday to unpack and participate in the opening ceremony/games. Transportation will be provided from the Newfield, Cherry Hill, and East Brusnwick Servcie Centers, if needed. Saturday will be filled with workshops that focus on healthy eating, healthly relationships, self-denfense, zumba, and self-esteem. Girls will also have plenty of free time to swim, create in craft workshops, participate in organzied games, or just hang out! On Sunday we will conclude our weekend with a closing ceremony and goodbyes!
Girls will be CHALLENGED to develop a "take action" project to implement in their local communities when they return from the weekend. Some start-up money will be available to support local projects. The "take action" project can be a Girl Scout Silver or Gold Award as long as it meets the requirements outlined for these awards.
All meals and workshop expenses are included in the registration.
All regsitered girls will receive a welcome packet with additional infromation prior to the event including a packing list, detailed workshop descriptions, and transportation request.
