Become a Volunteer

Thank you for the opportunity to share information on how you can become a Girl Scout Volunteer. Whether you have an hour or two once a week, or even just a couple of times a year, we would like you to become a part of Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ (GSCSNJ) family. There are many pathways for you to begin your Girl Scout journey with us!

Follow these four simple steps to become a volunteer:

• Step One—Complete a volunteer application/interest form to let us know what volunteer pathway interests you.
• Step Two—Postions where you will work directly with girls require a background check. Please complete your background check online.
• Step Three—A volunteer will contact you for an interview. After you receive your appointment letter, you will need to complete training requirements for your position. You can take Orientation to Girl Scout online.

Background Check

Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ (GSCSNJ) is committed to providing a safe and quality program for girls as they participate in Girl Scouts. In order to safeguard the girls in our care, criminal background checks will be conducted for all volunteers providing direct service to girls. The background check, conducted by IntelliCorp Systems, includes criminal records searches of convictions, arrests, court records, inmate records, and sex offender registries. Your social security number is needed for our background check, but will not be shared with the Council.
