The Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ, Inc. (GSCSNJ) recognizes council-sponsored product program activities as an integral part of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Therefore, every girl must be given the opportunity to participate in this essential program element.
Troop/Group Participation Guidelines
GSCSNJ, Inc. offers two product programs that are powerful revenue generators for troops. Since troops are an integral part of the local Girl Scout council, you must participate in both council-sponsored programs if you plan to conduct additional money-earning activities or accept any donation from an outside source. Money-earning activities may only occur outside of the Cookie Program (Jan-March) timeframe. Under certain circumstances a waiver will be considered by the CEO or designee.
Troops reregistering for the second year or more must give troop members the opportunity to participate in product program activities. Troops must reregister as members of GSUSA prior to the QSP/Nut campaign. Should a troop reregister after the QSP/Nut campaign, additional money earning activities will not be approved.
Newly formed troops who register close to/or after the beginning date of the QSP/Nut or Cookie Program and Newly formed troops who are unable to participate in the sale will not be restricted from additional money earning activities. New Troops are defined as those not previously registered and/or those required to complete new leader training (Orientation and Leadership Essentials).
Troop participation in product programs is defined as follows:
QSP/Nut Program: A troop has participated in this program if the amount of QSP/Nut items ordered averages 1 magazine/nut item per girl, with a minimum of 75% of the troop participating.
Cookie Program: A troop has participated in this campaign if the amount of cookies sold averages 1 case (12 boxes) per girl, with a minimum of 75% of the troop participating.
